What to Expect With Permanent Makeup
Making Appointment, Consultation, and Procedure
1. Making Appointment: Every visit requires an appointment in advance by calling/texting Holly at (704) 775-1782 or filling in the "Contact Us" form on the website. A $50 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your appointment. This is then deducted from the final price.
2. Consultation: You can come in for the consultation before or the same day of the main procedure (Appointment Required). Holly will discuss the shape, thickness, and color of your desire. She will then draw the design in pencil on your skin and take a photo of you to study the symmetry of your features.
3. Procedure: Prior to the procedure you will need to fill out new client paperwork. First, Holly will numb the procedure areas with the best topical numbing creams. She will then use a pencil to design the perfect shape to compliment your facial features. Next, she uses sterile tools and disposable blades/needles to complete your procedure. Finally, we will take pictures of you before and after the procedure for our own record and advertising purposes.
Healing Process and What to Expect
1. The Day After: When your new makeup is completed it will appear a little darker. This is temporary. You are seeing pigment in both layers of your skin (epidermis and dermis). The top layer of your skin sheds and renews itself every few days and with this natural process the pigment in the top layer will peel off. This initial dark look will not last. Only the color in the dermis (second layer of skin) will be long lasting. If you are happy with your new permanent makeup color and darkness when you leave your first session, then you will be unhappy within the next 2-3 weeks as the color may lighten up by 50%. For this reason, it is important for you to be patient and let your skin heal.
2. Healing: For the first 2-3 days following eyebrows and eyeliner applications, and for the first 3-7 days following lip liner or lip color, you will have swelling, redness, and tenderness in the area of your newly applied makeup. It is important to pamper your new makeup and keep a protective veil of petroleum jelly over the affected area. This prevents scab formation and drying, which can lift out the newly implanted color. It is very common to have some areas fade more so than others. This is part of the healing process and will be treated at the recommended touch up appointment. Be sure to wear sunglasses and sun screen when outside.
3. Touch-up Visit: Schedule your touch-up within 30 to 60 days after the initial procedure. Previously done eyebrows may take 1-3 treatments to achieve the desired result. Permanent Makeup is an art, NOT a science. Every person is unique and we cannot predict how your makeup will appear. We have no control over your bodies healing process but be assured that we will do our very best to make you happy with your investment in permanent makeup. Your cooperation is vital.
